
The Menominee County ISD is pleased to provide the Great Parent Great Start program to families with children birth to five living in Menominee County. The program has three components: a 10 week home visit program, community playgroups and classes. All services are free of charge. Following is a brief description of each component.
Great Parents Great Start Home Visit Program
- 10 weekly home visits to families with children birth to five
- Topics for the home visits are based on the individual needs of the family
- Visits are scheduled around the family’s schedule
Possible home visit topics include: discipline techniques, child development, fun activities to do with your child, health and safety, nutrition, literacy and community resources.

Great Parents Great Start Play Groups Program
- Monthly playgroups are usually held the third Thursday of the month.
- Children will enjoy structured and unstructured play with children their own age.
- Parents can meet other parents.
- Everyone can have a healthy snack.

Parenting Classes
Periodically throughout the year parenting classes are offered to Menominee County families. Parenting Now is a 4-5 week series that covers the following topics: parenting values, communication, stress management and discipline techniques.
