Program Descriptions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Head Start: Federally Funded Program<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Children at our centers enjoy learning to play. Various activities are available daily during structured times and discovery (free play) time, outdoor activities are included daily, weather permitting. Meals or snacks are served family-served family-style, and good nutrition and healthy habits are emphasized throughout the day. Children learn social skills and develop age-appropriate competence in language, literacy, numbers, and motor skills.<\/p>\n

Programs are more comprehensive and able to provide more home-to-school services.\u00a0 They are designed to help those at the lowest poverty level and reach the highest need.<\/p>\n

Strong Beginnings: State-Funded PILOT Program<\/p>\n

Strong Beginnings is a pilot program for three-year-old children.\u00a0 This program is modeled after GSRP, listed below.\u00a0 The required qualified adult-to-child ratio is 1:7, with a max of 14 children in a classroom.<\/p>\n

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP): State-Funded Program<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Great Start Readiness Program\u2019s purpose is to provide an atmosphere that encourages the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative growth and development of the child.\u00a0 The program follows the guidelines of the GSRP and the State of Michigan\u2019s daycare licensing, to ensure the best overall learning experience for the child as a whole.\u00a0 The required qualified adult-to-child ratio for daycare establishments is 1:10, whereas most of our locations are still doing 1:8!<\/p>\n

Programs are ALL levels of income above Head Start.\u00a0 Most of the locations are in Elementary School buildings, with one program operating within a daycare center.<\/p>\n
